ENJOY!

When purchasing a 'Purebred Maine Coon'....

you are paying for 'personality' and 'health'. color shouldn't matter, but it does to a lot of folks! I don't 'line breed', nor do I 'in breed', and I don't have 'mix breeds'... I breed only un-related cats, I have PURE BRED maine coons that have been DNA tested! Some of my kittens are 'show' quality, some are not....but irreguardless, they ALL have that great 'maine coon personality' that everyone wants and that's what you are paying to get.

1. I use only "Royal Canin" food products. In the Rapid City area, you can purchase Royal Canin at Pet Smart or any pet specialty stores.

2. Those of you that have house plants, please check to make sure they are "kitty" friendly before bringing a new baby into your home. Plants can be deadly

3. If you choose to feed something else, make sure to mix the Royal Canin in with your choice of food for several days, so that the change won't be harmful to your new baby.

4. Cats have claws, please offer them lots of things to sharpen them on. They love baskets, not only to sleep in, but to play in and sharpen their claws on.

5. Again, kittens have sharp claws, they are like velcro when you hold them. If you have small children, please be careful so the kitten doesn't injure the child or vice versa!

6. Kittens are small, and they dart and dash everywhere. Please be aware when going into a room and closing the door.

7. Liquid Potpourri can injure a cat very badly, even kill them. If they get it on their paws, it burns them badly, they lick it, then it burns their insides. If you are thinking of getting a kitten, please keep this very harmful item out of their reach, or keep it covered, or get rid of it!

8. Maine Coons love to play in water.....sometimes they like to "dig" in their water dish, or even move it around. Point is, they spill it, play in it and they just make messes. for my cats, I went to the Dollar store, bought some plastic serving trays and some plastic bowls. I then got adhesive velcro. I applied the velcro onto both the bowl and serving tray. Now when they play in their water, it spills onto the tray, and not on the floor. I have to change the velcro from time to time. But it beats having water on the floor! With these cats, you need to beat them at their game. Just one less thing you have to clean up all of the time!!!

10. Please check your washer and dryer before you start them, kittens and cats too, like to get in them. Please do a head count before you start them!

Any suggestions you may have, let me know and I will post them to this page.
